Going there in september hope things are still ok in Khorog. Thanks for the research Pamirsku doesnt look hopefull for this year.... maybe next

I don't think Khorog will be concerned, but Ishkashim may be different (http://asiacruisenews.com/news/Tajikist ... fghanistan ). If the way over the tajik Wakhan is closed one can also take the Roshtkhala road (we did it some years ago with a bike and crossed over Mats Pass to Khargush and further to Zorkul, the track over Mats requires some walking and crossing of a bigger river) besides main highway.

wow sounds like a cool trip,how long was your trip to Zorkul? You did that all by bike? How long you stayed in Afghanistan?

Zorkul was great, we did it on a 3 weeks cycle loop through the Pamir, including Bartang valley

The Wakhan side trip was 3 weeks, we cycled to Sarhad and trekked to the Little Pamir.
