Today (17th of October 2016) we went to the chinese embassy in Tbilisi to apply fo a tourist visa. We are holder of a German passport. The process was quick and easy. The woman was very friendly. We gave her our filled out application forms with an passport picture and our hotel bookings. She said it is no problem and we will get a 90+90 visa to pick up on Friday for 60 Lari. So it seems to be possible again to get a visa as a foreigner! We will give some updates on Friday :-).

I received my visa on October 17th:

- Canadian Citizen
- Brought application form, couple nights booking at hostel in Kashgar, passport photo
- Applied Wednesday, received Monday
- 10 year multiple entry visa, 60 days each visit
- 180 Lari
- Was told 10-year, expensive visa is the only option for Canadians

Just come back from the chinese consulate.
What was needed for a 90+90 with a 6 months validity:

- photo
- reservation plane ticket ( in front of the consulate, an agency where they do it for 10GEL )
- photocopy of passeport
- filled form ( you have to print it yourself. Link available in the chinese visa page of caravanistan)
- first night(s) of hotel reservation (booking.com)

Applied on monday (5/12/16) picked it up on friday(9/12). You pay 90GEL ( for the 90days/ double entry) + 1 for the machine. No questions asked as why and how. ( no idea what they would say if you tell you are cycling like me. I did not want to take the risk) You will deal with a charming young lady who speaks very good english. First time (and hope not the last) that i get such an easy chinese visa.

Hello!

We picked up our Chinese visa (one entrance + 60 days for 60GEL with a French passport) this morning (10/02) after application on Monday (06/02). It was really fast and easy, no question at all, and a very helpful young lady!
The required documents didn't change since the last reports.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you need more information!

Postby Yogeshpgupta » Wed Feb 22, 2017 7:28 am

New rule for all passports.
You need to have a resident permit of Georgia to apply from here.

Pain in the!!!

All Schengenstate citizens have automatically a residence and work permit for one year. Not enough?

Nope. Thats a visa not resident permit technically. Apparently it has changed recently.

Technically it is not a visa but indeed a permission to live and work there for one year. You know it first hand that they dont accept the Schengen state passports?

I got an e-mail yesterday saying Schengen-state is not enough. Only residents.
