Anyone with a russian car-travelling Visa has recently (or knows someone who has) entered Russia by car (in the car of a friend and with him together), but leaved Russia by plane (alone)? Were there any problems on the airport / customs because of the car-stamp in the passport?
We tried it in Sept as we understood from several sources you can now get a 12 month temporary import permit for foreign car regardless of your visa lenght, but did not manage as the customs refused to give us temporary import papers valid longer than our visa (which is limited to 30 days for normal tourist visa for EU citizens). So we had to drive out of Russia again before our visa and temporary import papers expired.... Now trying to understand how others did manage, or if the 12 month TIP is in fact not possible to get for an EU citizen....
