'istan transit trip, is it feasible?

Postby ico84 » Tue Dec 27, 2016 11:33 am

Hi!

I would like to organize a "transit trip" from Theran to Almaty by pubblic trasport. In these 2 cities I have a race so I need to be there the 7 April and the 23 April.

The idea is smt like: Iran Turkmenistan Uzbekistan Tajikistan Kyrgyzstan Kazakistan.

I already made some "trasit - stressful" trip of this kind in the past, but in this one there is a big problem: Visas.

Do you think I can manage this? Any suggestion?

Thank you

PS:I am from Italy

Yes, it is possible due to visa-free for you in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

For all further visa info (it is up to date), please refer to http://caravanistan.com/visa

I would like to get a little help.

Because I am short of time I am trying to figure out the best way to get from Khiva (Uzb) to Kyrgyzstan.

I have this idea:
Khiva -> Tashkent by airplane
Tashkent -> Samarkand by train or bus
Samarkand -> Dushanbe

and here I am kind of stucked.
I would like to get in Kyrgyzstan by plane but there are no direct way (am I wrong?).. By bus/sharing car it is too long..

So maybe I should change smt of the trip in Uzb. Maybe should I get in Tagikistan by the Oybek-Buston border and from there in Kyrgyzstan by the Batken - Isfara border?

PS: i Know it would be better to skip Tagikistan, but my goal it is to get in every 'stan before getting home :)

If your goal is just to get into every stan, I recommend your second suggestion: Tashkent - Oybek/buston - Khujand - Batken/Isfara - Osh.
