Re: Going to Afghanistan post-8/2021
if you look in the Facebook group "Every Passport Stamp", a solo Swedish woman just did a ~10 day trip in Afghanistan. It required a stop in Pakistan to catch a daily Kam Air flight into Kabul. Don't want to start a convo on the ethics/etc. here, but I'm sure a handful more will make it over in the ...

Re: Uzbekistan travel restrictions/reopening Q&A
According to the UZ tourism ambassador on Twitter, a negative PCR test is no longer required to leave the country. But I can understand there is confusion about it. I would also advise printing out information from your country's government website to prove you do not need a test to return (if that...

Re: Uzbekistan travel restrictions/reopening Q&A
Flew in from bishkek...pcr test is stamped before immigration and is a formality...they barely even read it before stamping it.
The 14day quarantine form strikes me as the same. The guy takes it and then stamps the passport there is zero chance this will be enforced

Re: Pamir Highway & Taliban offensive 2021
Driving from Rushan to Khorog now on day 4 of a 10 day loop. Have been within 50 meters of the afghan border like 90% of the time so far, and so far zero issues. My personal opinon is that there's nothing to worry about with the Taliban if you make the road trip

Re: Equivalent of Caravanistan for Middle East
No, but I would be very interested. Do you have any facebook groups on Middle East travel to recommend? I don't enough about website creation or travel in the Middle East yet to make one but I would be happy to help if you know someone that does. This website is such an amazing resource, and I am s...

Re: Uzbekistan travel restrictions/reopening Q&A
Not sure if this belongs in this thread but...my dad and I (both us citizens) applied for a visa via the uzbek embassy in DC. Did one day shipping each way from NY, mailed it July 28 and got it back today, Aug 5. Told them our 2 week itinerary and mentioned that I'd most likely be flying in from Bis...

Re: Tajikistan Corona travel restrictions / e-visa issues Q&A
US citizen here. I applied on july 26 and got accepted just now (july 28) for the 50 usd evisa + gbao permit, 60 days valid from aug 10. I'm in contact with one of the caravanistan tour operators for an aug 16-25 dushanbe loop tour and he charged an extra 70 usd to expedite the visa process...this m...
