Re: Europe to Thailand by Train, Bus & Caspian Sea via China
Thanks for that good advice Currently we are thinking of taking a minibus to Ardahan then hitch or taxi to Akhaltsikhe. From there apparently it's easy to get transport to Tbilisi I wouldn’t count on getting taxis across the border, non-existent to my knowledge. But for a taxi tó the border you mig...

Re: Europe to Thailand by Train, Bus & Caspian Sea via China
We just bought our Turkish train tickets from Izmir to Ankara and the Dogu Express from Ankara to Kars using https://ebilet.tcddtasimacilik.gov.tr/ The site has an English language option and was easy to use. But, it did go offline for about 24hrs so not 100 % reliable. Tickets don't go on sale unt...

Re: Wagah Border (Lahore - Amritsar) PAK - IND
Since I couldn’t find a full list of what Visatronix in Islamabad needs for an Indian paper visa, I went there today and got the info. And luckily AI could translate my photo of the paper to text, so here it is: FOREIGN CHECK LIST FOR INDIA HIGH COMMISSION 1. Original Passport 2. Polio certificate 3...

Re: Recommended hotel or hostel in Aktau and Aktobe?
Not aure if this comment is of any value, but I got so depressed from the aktau hostels that I thought of leaving the same day. But then I coincidentally ran into a couchsurfing host. Try couchsurfing!

Re: Trip Report: Buying a Pchak knife in Shakhrikhan
"The word pichak means knife in Uzbek. It is alternatively spelled as pichok, pichoq and pchak." Shakhrikhan is also spelled as shahrixon. I just put the above text there so this post will show when someone uses a different name. Great trip report! I might either go to Chust or to both Chust and Sh...

Will sell my bike in Lahore, Pakistan around half nov
I bought a very nice Honda CG 125 recently in Pakistan, and I’ll drive around for at least a month, before exiting via lahore to amritsar-India. In case it is of use to anyone, my 125cc hotness will available to buy around that time. I’m still editing, but working on a lil video about buying the bik...

Re: Chinese Visa for Khunjerab Pass to Qolma Pass
Lil update on my side. The last 2 days I crossed Tajikistan-China-Pakistan with an L visa I obtained back home in The Netherlands. In short: the highways were great but it still feels like a waste of time and money. Next time I’d go through Afghanistan instead of China. Both borders are open now, bu...

Re: Qolma/Kulma pass (China-Tajikistan) border crossing reports
I crossed the Kulma/Kalasu border on the 4th. There was a lot of unclarity about when the border would open bc of Golden week. In the end a truck driver took me up to the pass on the 3rd. The border was still closed and I was told by the officer that it would open on the 4th at 8am. I spent the nigh...
