Re: Iranian Visa Extension

Hi, We tried in Shiraz, and we just got rejected this morning, because we have still 5 days left on our visa. He told us we have time to go to Yazd. We told him we were by bicycle, his answer : even if it's two or three days after the end of the visa, it's OK. ... I wouldn't trust him on that if we ...

Re: Turkmenistan Transit Visa in Dushanbe

The end of the story : As we had only 5 days to cross the country (cycling), we went out of Ouzbekistan the 11th, and camped between the borders. Some military came to check, but no worry. Around 8am, we went to the turkmen customs. We just had to show the invitation letter, and pay 55$ (visa) and 1...

Re: Turkmenistan Transit Visa in Dushanbe

We met two swiss cyclists in Uzbekistan, coming from Iran. They have another theory : every french and swiss they met had their transit visas... Well, that's not easy to verify that ! When we were in Doushanbe with many cyclists, mid-october, half of them were waiting for the turkmen visa. Polish co...

Apparently, there's no need to register anymore if you stay more than 30 days. The visa is for 45 days, without registration.

Re: Embassy report: Iran Visa - Dushanbe

Hello ! Two french passports. Iranian Code (LOI) obtained with Caravanistan (27€ only each !). One of the guy speaks english, the other not. They are not really friendly, but can't say they are unfriendly. They just do the job. When we arrived, the code was there, and we had to choose between urgent...

Re: Embassy report: Uzbek visa in Bishkek

If you don't have 7 days to wait for the uzbek visa, and no extra-money to spend on a LOI if not needed, here is a good option. 5 posts ago, I was talking about applying in Bishkek to pick our visa up in Dushanbe. We just got it this morning ! Here is more information : http://caravanistan.com/forum...

Re: Embassy report: Uzbek visa in Dushanbe

Hi there ! We have a french passport and didn't want to : - pay a not needed LOI - wait 7 days to get our visa ~~~~ Short version ~~~~ We applied in Bishkek, and got it in Dushanbe "on the spot". Almost no wait (5mn in Bishkek, a couple of hours in Dushanbe). Fixed dates (but we could chan...

Re: Turkmenistan Transit Visa in Dushanbe

I shaved my beard before and dressed a little bit cleaner than when I am on my bike :). I recently got this confirmed by Turkmen tour operators: any facial hair is a definite NO for Turkmen KGB. Shaved passport pics essential. Is that a joke ? Every male traveler I meet for now is kind of beardy ! ...
