Re: Tajikistan launches evisa with GBAO permit
Just a quick note regarding the e-Visa with the GBAO permit. We did the Pamir with just the printout and it was fine. Our passports were stamped when we entered via Uzbekistan by land (not the e-Visa). When we exited via Kyrgyzstan they kept the printout. No issues at all. PS. Black and white printo...

Re: Tajikistan launches evisa with GBAO permit
So far, no problems with eVisa although officials (traffic police) are always taken aback when they don't see the stamp. However... Has anyone entered the Pamirs with just the printout of the eVisa that has the GBAO image on it? It doesn't look official AT ALL. We are looking to leave tomorrow but n...

Re: Tajikistan launches evisa with GBAO permit
We crossed today overland from Uzbekistan's Oybek border post using our e-Visas. The printout of the FAQs is useless. The border control officers had never seen an e-Visa and have no computers nor Internet to check the numbers. Full post here: http://travelphernalia.weebly.com/blog/border-crossing-u...

Re: UPDATE: Russian Tourist Visa in Tashkent
Hello again. We have our visas! Very easy place to get your Russian Tourist visa...and way cheaper than in Georgia thanks to the fact that you can pay in sums (read about the unofficial exhange rate). Same process as described. We had to pay 160,000 sums each for the 30 day tourist visa. It was read...

Re: Kyrgyzstan Visa in Tashkent
And BTW, there's a little cafe place called La Luna *prob 200 meters, infront of the Intituti where you can go and wait. It is going to be a LONG wait.

Kyrgyzstan Visa in Tashkent
Hello Everyone, Just wanted to share my experience getting a tourist visa in Tashkent. The location is indeed on 30 Niyozbek Yo'li 6-tor ko'chasi, Тошкент, Uzbekistan To get a taxi there, just ask a taxi driver to drop you in Toshkent Irrigasia va Meliorasia Instituti, which everyone knows about. Re: Exchanging money on arrival at airport
Maybe change just enough to get into the city as the official rate is less than half (yes, HALF!) of the rates you can get in a bazaar.
A taxi shouldn't cost that much eitherway, maybe 15-20,000 sums (bargain hard). That's what we paid for going into the airport.

Earthquake Sary-Tash (Murghab to Osh way, Pamir Highway)
Hello Everyone,
Heard today that there was a 6 something earthquake in the region of Saray-Tash. Does anyone know if this caused any landslides or border closures?
Cheers,
Gio
