I agree, one full day in Termez you can see all the sights, that leaves you with an extra day to see the sights in Tashkent.

Yeah, most of the water is pretty steep in Central Asia. I think in Kyrgyzstan Boom gorge and Chong Kemin are definitely partly doable, these are the main places where rafting companies take tourists. I also tried to take the bus first, same issue, would not let me on. Glad that I wasn't let on because the bus looked horrible.

Train was expensive but hassle-free.
