Re: Khan Tengri base camp trek - anyone hiked both way without helicopter?

Are you talking about the approach from the Kyrgyz side? I guess hiking guides probably did that before. From tourists I haven't heard such a thing yet. Which company did you contact? Ak-Sai I presume? They own the helicopter. They are flaky, especially when it comes to individual tourists, there is...

Re: Leaving a car behind in Armenia or Georgia for good.

It's a difficult topic, and definitely those rallies that you speak of have had issues with governments in the past that did not want them to ditch hundreds of junk cars into their countries anymore (notably the Mongol Rally). Re: Kochkor to Song Kul road condition

Re: Long-term vehicle storage in Eurasian Customs Union Q&A

I think it can be extended by any of the people who are frequently mentioned in these threads. Get in touch with them, or with the place where you parked your car to see if they can do it for you.

Re: Heli/ cat-ski Ridder

I think the best thing you can do is contact them yourself. It's really a matter of talking to people and finding out what is possible. There is no organised tourism in the area, so you need to do your own fact-finding. I'm sorry, if I did not write down what places have the cat-ski, I don't remembe...

Re: Coronavirus border closures & re-openings

Where is a good place for me to keep checkimg for any changes? Thank you I have some general resources in the coronavirus article. https://caravanistan.com/coronavirus/ If it's one country in particular you need, I suggest using Google News on search terms like "tajikistan coronavirus" "tajikistan ...

Hi Robert, so far I do not have an answer to any of your questions. For now, Tajikistan is closed to foreigners, and I haven't heard anything about a possible re-opening.

Question 1: yes
Question 2: I think so. The bridge was repaired a few years ago so it's fine AFAIK.
