Not a lot of demand. 99.9% of tour operators are focused on cultural tours. Uzbeks do have a herd mentality. I think if you are looking to do it on the cheap we are not the best to talk to. Independent drivers are the cheapest option. Through the agency communication will be easier and there's more accountability in case things go wrong, but that adds 10-20% to the cost.

If you rented a jeep-style car (I don't think we rent out anything else) it will definitely get you there.

Just say to whoever you are renting from that you are going to Kel Suu and they will give you some tips.

They have blankets should you get cold. It's properly organised, most people coming are not backpackers.
