Re: Registration Azerbaijan
Seems like we have quite a different experience regarding the online registration. For us it worked, but you need to be patient. We did it in May 2017, 2 Belgian citizens. Let's start with the beginning: We crossed at the Astara border crossing coming from Iran. We had an electronic visa and everyth...

Re: Visa on Arrival at IRAN
Not unimportant: for the visa itself, you don't need proof of onward travel, but the airline you're flying with can require it! We flew with Air Asia from Singapore to Tehran in April 2017 and if we hadn't arranged a fake ticket to 'fly out' of Iran via Flyonward.com, they wouldn't have let us board...

Re: Visa on Arrival at IRAN
An address of a 'friend' (Couchsurfing or Warmshowers host) does the trick as well. Our host had received many guests before, but no official ever had called him before to verify if the foreigners would indeed stay at his place.

Re: ASAN e-visa Azerbaijan
2 Belgian citizens. We applied today for the e-visa, received it via mail after only a few hours. Very easy and straightforward. We took a picture of our passport photo page with our camera, just make sure it's clear and small enough. For 'residence address' we put the address of a random hostel in ...

Re: Turkmenistan transit visa poll
Interesting poll, but maybe there should be a third option 'did not apply for Turkmen visa to avoid the risk of being rejected'.

Re: Embassy report: Chinese visa in Hong Kong
Update about the border crossing Macau-China (we took the ferry from Hong Kong to Macau first): we were taken aside for an extra passport control and an interview because of our crossing through Turkey a couple of months ago. They wanted to know what we did there. Apparently the relations between Tu...

Re: Embassy report: Chinese visa in Hong Kong
We had a strange situation with the FBT agency in Hong Kong this week. After getting their answer via e-mail as copied above with all the visa options, we thought we would definitely get a Chinese visa there. Turned out differently though. When we handed in our application (individual tourist visa, ...

Re: Where to best get Chinese visa now?
We contacted this agency http://www.fbt-chinavisa.com.hk/ to ask if it was possible for us to apply in Hong Kong for Chinese visa and got the following answer: "We can provide 2 options: 1) Individual visa Usually for belgium passport without HK id, you can apply for single/ double entry tourist L v...

Re: Where to best get Chinese visa now?
Any idea of Hong Kong is still the emergency exit? We have the impression that Chinese embassies a bit everywhere are closing their gates, so maybe Hong Kong as well...? We're thinking of flying there from Ulaan Batar, Mongolia, but if it might not be possible to apply there we are stuck again...
