Re: Iraqi Kurdistan - Turkey border crossing reports
Busy updating my planning notes etc for my Silk Road walk next year and I may include the multiday trek that is being finalised in Iraqi Kurdistan at the moment. This will only be around September 2023 but I was wondering if anyone has recently used this border. I have picked up in some research he...

Anyone following this may also be interested in the new Free Visa for Kaliningrad: http://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/klgd_home_en.html :) We had a similar experience, entry to Brest by train was fine, thanks Steven for the heads up about the migration card, one of us would not have gotten one had we n...

Re: Wording on China visa application
Just set up an ordinary tourist itinerary. Once you have your visa it doesn't matter where you enter, exit or go during your time in China and while you will probably get the visa even with mentioning Xinjiang, chances you won't get it are higher so why bother with excessive honesty. Occupation-wise...

Re: Pakistan e-visa and VOA Q&A
Was just about to give up on the e-visa and attempt to get a visa from my home embassy literally tomorrow. But, seeing that's there's an actual website created, I'm unsure if I should still go ahead with just getting the visa from the embassy or wait until the website supports USA visas. I'm wonder...

Visa Agreement signed! https://eng.belta.by/society/view/russias-state-duma-ratifies-agreement-on-visa-free-entry-for-minsk-european-games-fans-118619-2019/ Containing more words than facts as usual, I still can't conclude anything but that anyone with a European Games ticket will be allowed in Russ...

Re: Belarus Visa Free June 10 to July 10 in 2019
So in short the only difference between this and the regular visa-free regime is that you will be able to enter visa-free overland. Is this certain by the way? I did not find any explicit reference in the Indonesian embassy announcement. Hej Steven, yep that's it. Unless you're visiting Belarus exp...

Re: Belarus Visa Free June 10 to July 10 in 2019
Be aware that there may not be a proper border check when continuing towards Russia, which would be an issue if you need to enter Russia offically -but I'm not up to date on the situation. Currently, it's a huge problem and people do get in trouble with the FSB regularly. Currently, you cannot cros...

Re: Embassy report: Nagorno-Karabakh in Yerevan
May I ask, if you get your Artsakh Visa in Yerevan and sticked on your passport, at border crossing, do they give you extra entry and exit stamps? :D Do you *want* stamps? I'm quite sure that if you ask nicely, they'd be happy and proud to put any stamps they have in your passport :) The usual case...

Belarus Visa Free June 10 to July 10 in 2019
Well, not exactly the Silk Road yet, but to get there you may want to cross Belarus. Once again you can go visa free thanks to an international competition (European Games 2019)! The tickets have just gone on sale December 1 and the cheapest ones go for just 7 BYR (less than EUR 3). Anyone with a ti...
