For hiking, or possibly cycling in remote areas, I recommend you to download the old Soviet topographical maps which are available on different websites, i use maps.vlasenko.net (free of charge).

4 days is rushed, considering it's such a long 4WD drive and back. So I support the previous answer, check out a nearer destination.

From Artuch, you must return to Pendjikent for shared taxis to Dushanbe.

The Fann mountains are more suitable for a 3 to 6 days mountain trek than the Pamirs. The Pamirs have several good shorter treks, longer treks become remote adventures. I prefered the mountain treks in Northern Kyrgyzstan, and also in Tadjikistan. The Alay valley, Sary Moghul, yes, spectacular views.
That's only my personal opinion.

If you enjoy mountains and hiking, yes, go to the Fann mountains. Although the 7 lakes' is not my preferred part of the Fann mountains.

The K2 trek isn't very strenuous. The climb is gradual. But it is high altitude. The most difficult part is the descent from Gondoghoro pass.
