Indian cycle traveller applied for 5 days transit visa in Tehran (18-22 May 2017) from Bajgiran to Farap.
Got my visa in 8 days.

They did not speak English nor did they bother answer or listen at embassy of Azerbaijan.
I simply applied for an evisa as i can't be bothered anymore. Too tired lining‚Äč up all other visas of stans :'(

Hopefully i hit the road tomorrow :)

The consul accepted the private invitation but wanted the original invitation letter as per rules. Only business invitation may be submitted in photocopy.

Single entry, 60$ to be paid in a bank. 5-7 working days processing time. Passport is kept with consulate during processing.

I cannot apply in Baku since they need residence permit to apply and my friend made an invitation letter already for Georgia :(

Azerbaijan airlines offers cheap flights tickets to Aktau (Kazakhstan) and bicycle goes for FREE (need to be in a box though).

For those who do not get transit visa. Also a better option to caspian ferry (highly unreliable) and not that cheap.
