Re: Russian tourist visa in Tbilisi, Georgia

Does anyone know the opening times for collecting a passport? 6pm until? Can I collect it in the daytime the day after?

Where can I buy a picture of the president/weird souvenirs in Almaty?

Hoping someone (probably Saule or Steven!) can answer this weird question! I try to collect portraits, pictures, holographic posters of leaders of countries I visit. I know this is odd, but my holographic portraits of Ataturk, Aung San Suu Kyu and Islam Karimov are quite something. So far I have not...

Re: UPDATE: Russian Tourist Visa in Tashkent

Ok, UK passport here on 15 day Uzbek tourist visa. The woman at the visa counter took my documents without any questions, 2 hours later (yep) I was finally called into a room (Kabinet 11) where by a young male staff member told me I could only make the visa if I was a resident ("you should make...

Re: Russian visa: month long visa processing for UK citizens? no express service?

Also for the record - no starting the process here and collecting elsewhere (that doesn't surprise me and i think is unheard of), and you have to leave your passport, leaving a copy will not suffice. Kind of ludicrous seeing as they know as a resident in this (supposed former) military state we have...

Re: Russian visa: month long visa processing for UK citizens? no express service?

I don't believe I can send my passport anywhere for it to be done as UK nationals are required to submit fingerprint scans whilst applying at the embassy. I guess there's two issues here, 1 - you cant apply outside of your country of residence, which I believe has been a problem for a while and some...

Re: Russian visa: month long visa processing for UK citizens? no express service?

Hey Steven, thanks for the reply. I Actually applied in Yangon where I live. I wont be in KL or BKK long enough so will have to take my chances in Tashkent, although this is now worrying me; Quoted from the Almaty thread: "sakara Re: Embassy report: Russian visa in Almaty PostFri Feb 17, 2017 4...

Russian visa: month long visa processing for UK citizens? no express service?

I just tried to apply for a Russian visa with a UK passport in the country I live in, in SE Asia. I was told that for UK passports there is a reciprocal procedure in place that means we have to wait a whole calendar month for visa processing (during which the embassy will take our passports). No exp...

Re: Usual Uzbekistan embassy closing times for Nowruz?

Update: I received an email from the Bangkok embassy a few days after my friend rang. I had asked about closure for nowruz and received an email with one word "yes". Still none the wiser on BKKs actual closures. As for KL, the embassy has been very helpful and insist that they are only on ...
