Re: ATMs in Kazakhstan
I did have some issues with my bank card not being accepted in some ATM machines, but it did work in others. This may have had to do with the fact that it was a Mastercard card. Maybe with a Maestro/Visa card it would have worked. (Also, I don't know about the upper limit, but we found that from som...

Re: Iran e-visa system
We made a reservation for 1 night in Teheran, but also described the trip we were planning from the Armenian to the Turkmen border and they didn't make any problems. But I don't know how much that depends on the person who processes the application. The consul in Batumi was a kind guy.

Re: Iran e-visa system
Last year when we applied at the consulate in Batumi, we were required to have the name and address of a ho(s)tel where we had a reservation, and we also had to provide the room number. Maybe a private address would also have worked, but I don't know because we didn't try. Anyway, after we got the v...

Re: Embassy report: Russian visa in Almaty
In the end of August my mate (Polish) and I (Dutch) visited the Russian consulate in Almaty to apply for our 30 day tourist visas. Before that, we had had email contact with the consulate because we had some questions (we got prompt and accurate replies), so we knew it was possible. We arrived 10 mi...

Consulate report - Iranian visa in Batumi
My friend (Polish) and I (Dutch) first tried to start the visa procedure via the e-visa system, as we thought it was obligatory. None of the Georgian consulates were in the list on the website, so in the end we chose Almaty as the place to pick up our visas, although we didn't intend to travel there...

Re: Iran e-visa system
I'm interested to hear any recent experiences with the e-visa system, cause we also tried to use it today, but the embassies/consulates were we could go were missing (Batumi/Tbilisi/Yerevan). In the end we picked another one, and when we will be in Batumi, we'll go to the consulate to ask if the nu...

Oh, it's changed again! Thanks for the link! In that case my question needs no further answer.

Turkmen transit visa without visa to the next country
Hi everyone! Does anyone have any experience with getting a transit visa for Turkmenistan, when you didn't need a visa for the next country? I will be travelling from Iran via Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan (and further), and as a Dutch person, since the beginning of this year I can travel to Uzbekistan...
