Re: Single female travelling to Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul
Hmm I would say no. I am Australian and was there with an Afghan friend. We went to Kabul, Bamiyan, Mazar and Samangan. We dressed locally and I was able to blend in well, but I wouldn't have gone walking around as an obvious foreigner anywhere except Bamiyan, especially not if I was female unfortun...

Re: Bamyan - Did anyone go here in recent times?
I have also been to Bamyan recently (April 2017) and it is very safe to visit. In the rest of the country I felt the need to blend in and pretend to be an Afghan but in Bamyan there is no problem with people knowing you are a foreigner. They are kind and very excited to see visitors. We also drove t...

Re: Accommodation in Mazar e Sharif
Hi all, I know this isnt timely but thought I'd share anyway. I stayed at the Zarafshan Guesthouse which is located a few blocks north of Ghazanfar roundabout, north west of the blue mosque. It was really an exceptional place. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast was good and secu...

Re: Afghan tourist visa in Dubai
Hi all, So I was going to try and get the visa in Kuala Lumpur after the Embassy in Abu Dhabi told me it was not possible to get the visa in Dubai. I gave up on KL after being told different things numerous times by the same man. So came to Dubai anyway and low and behold, got the visa easily in one...

Re: Afghan Tourist Visa in Kuala Lumpur
I have been given different information again by the consular section in KL. Apparently the 4 digit MoFA code is only needed for a 30 day tourist visa. Without the letter from the MoFA they will apparently issue a 15 day visa only. I only need ten days so I am going to go to KL and apply on monday t...

Re: Afghan Tourist Visa in Kuala Lumpur
Update: I called again for good measure and was told by the consular official I need a four digit code and invitation letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul. So my Afghan friend now needs to go to the MoFA, get a letter and a four digit code from them, send it to me, i then take it the...

They told me it IS possible to get a tourist visa at the embassy there. I am an Australian citizen living in Cambodi...

Re: Afghan tourist visa in Dubai
Some further information, I contacted the embassy in Abu Dhabi, and was told it is not possible to get a tourist visa unless you are a resident of Dubai.
I was told to get the visa at the embassy in my home country.
Can anyone please advise if this is correct?
Thank you.
James.

He has also written me an invitation letter. Can someone with recent experience, preferably 2017, detail wh...
