Re: Bartang Valley best way?

I would like to add something from my experience. It might seem like going down the valley is easier, since you lose 2000 meters of elevation. But it's over 200 km, so you hardly ever feel like cycling down hill. Of course the exception is transition from plateau to the valley, where you loose about...

Re: Cross-border market in Khorogh

I was in Khorog around the second week of August and the afghan market was open. Ishkashim one closed. Hi Aleco, any idea what day(s) of the week its open? Also do you actually cross into Afghanistan or is it in "no-mans land"? We were in Khorog on 01/07/2017 and market was on, after being off for ...

Re: Bartang Valley

Hello, I'm Dorotheas partner and wanted to give an update on conditions in Bartang. We cycled through last week without major problems. There's lots of landslides, big rocks on the track etc, but possible on bicycle and on motorcycle (we meet three motorcyclists and three bikers in valley). We also ...

We were only allowed to cycle to Singing Dune and back though. Initially we planed to cycle through the park, enter ...

Re: Altyn Emel by bike

When are you going there? We are about two days away from the park, and we hope to cycle through it too. We can let you know once we exit the park and have internet access.

Re: Khorgos border crossing Q&A (Almaty - Urumqi)

Would like to confirm that crossing on bicycles is possible. Just did it today with my partner. Had bit of a trouble finding where to enter, just to the left of trucks, barley visible, but no problem. Also Chinese border guards gave me a lot of trouble, because I didn't have Kazakhstan visa. I told ...
