Got the same response today. Need either Letter of no Objection from your embassy or official LOI from Afghan government. No debating it.

Re: Afghan tourist visa in Khorog
Afghan consulate in Khorog now specifies on the visa that you can ONLY go to Wahkan corridor. Apparently Dushanbe got mad at them cause tourists were getting the visa in Khorog and using it to cross to Mazari Sharif. This new rule started last month.

Embassy Report: Pakistan Consulate Vancouver
Applied March, 2018. An original, notarized LOI is required from someone in Pakistan. I used a tour company, which cost over $150 to get them to notarize and courier the LOI to me. The LOI has to be couriered to you from Pakistan now, it CANNOT be emailed to you. I tried to convince the consulate th...

Canadian Passport Looking for Iranian Visa Without a Tour or Guide
Hello out there,
Has anyone found a way for Canadians/ Brits to get into Iran by land from Turkey without using a guide? I'll be on a motorcycle. I've searched every post here and have found nothing more recent than 2015, does Tbilisi still give visas to Canadians without a guide?
Thanks!

Is this the same tour agency that has since been shut down?

Re: Iran visa and private sponsorship
I'm Canadian as well and hoping to go through Iran on my motorcycle from Turkey to Pakistan.. have you found any answers to this tour dilemma? I'm searching every corner of the web. Couchsurfing might have some helpful hosts if the personal invitation does turn out to be an option?
