We tried on both sides with ID card actually, but we didn't insist when both asked for passports (since we had them too). It would have probably worked though, with a bit more patience.

I have been waiting for the Baku to Aktau ferry for the last three days now. I am following elliotmayu's method on the previous post by calling +994504200905 every morning. Hello, We are about to cross the Caspian Sea from Baku (or Alat) to Aktau with our car. Do you know if we can transport jerrycans of diesel with us on the boat? If so, is there any limit?
