Re: Transit visa, detour possible ?
It will be a problem when you're being checked by police, as you have to take the direct way between your entry and exit point indicated on the transit document you receive upon entering.

If you're looking for a nice beer drinking bar, I can also recommend the "BundesBar" where you can meet other travelers as well as expats.

Re: Lotfabad/Artyk border updates
I crossed the border with my car last friday, here is how it was. Public transport is available from Dargaz to the border, when coming with your own vehicle just follow the signs for Lotfabad or the masses of trucks. Re: Speed limits in Tajikistan
Well, there are not too many speed limit signs in Tajikistan — but 60 and 90 sounds reasonable. Highways and motorways is a bit irritating, I mean, are there any highways in TJ?

(...) we would prefer not to choose an agenda eg on a portion of the Agency's requirements..... pondering what you did about this? I recommend you to chose an agency — not because I want you to spend more money, but it works well and saves you some hassle. I did the same when applying for my Irania...

Re: Help with Selling car in Kyrgyzstan
https://caravanistan.com/travel-tips/how-where-sell-car-central-asia/ You mean the date in the red part on the right of the numberplate? That's the date when your export insurance is expiring, but I think no one outside of EU cares about this — I don't think people even know this type plate, especia...

Re: Mashkatov border - Uralsk to Samara
I cannot answer 1-3, but it is definitely possible to hitchhike to the border, there's some traffic on both sides and the border is open all day long. It was pretty easy when we crossed like 2 weeks ago, took around 20 minutes. Please consider that Mashkatov is more like a vehicle border crossing, m...

No, you don't have to buy your own fuel card. Price for normal fuel is around 2,000 Toman/liter, depending on the location.

Re: Dostyk Crossing (Kyrgyzstan into Uzbekistan)
I can confirm what marten568 is saying, it's a nice border crossing. We asked on the Uzbek side if we could skip the line of the waiting cars and they let us.

Crossed there with my car in mid-May as well, very bad road on both sides but a wonderful scenery. Took less than 15 minutes for everything.
