Fann Mountains trekking - tips?

Hey guys, by the end of the week I plan to start a 5-7 days trekking in the Fann Mountains. How easy is it to rent camping gear in Panjikent, and how is the price compared to Karakol? Is it possible on doing a trek of this length without camping, relying solely on homestays? Any recommendations for ...

Thanks, the tour operator that provided my LOI said I might have difficulty getting the Visa in Bishkek for a entry date on the 25th of August. But last week I got it without any problems.

Hey guys,

I know this might be hard to anticipate, but anyone has any idea if this closure might happen again? Or last year it happened because of the Independence anniversary? They have a new president, so maybe it will be better this year.

Hey Guys, thank you very much for the precious advice. Unfortunately, I'll have to leave China out this time. I finally closed my dates and Ill have 6 more days than on the plan previous mentioned. So what I'll do with this extra days is to add 3 or 4 of them for Fann Mountains hiking and the others...

Hey Guys how are you? I was originally planning a 1 1weeks trip that would start in Lanzhou and cover much of far west china, then 4 weeks in Kyrgyzstan, 2 in the pamir hwy and 1 in Uzbekistan. But unfortunately stuff poped up at home and I'll have to cut it to 5 weeks. So I decided to cut the Chine...

Hey guys, I be travelling in China in July and want to cross to Kyrgyztan on the 31st of that month, a monday. But the 1st of January is a chinese holiday, anyone knows if I can have any problem crossing the corder the day before?
