Re: Turkmenistan Airlines banned by EASA

Re: Visa free Iran for Malaysian in land border

Well - everything I've heard or seen so far suggests the answer is "yes, no problem". However, you only get 15 days. (My wife is Malaysian, but we entered Iran via IKA.)
Once you have crossed, maybe you could report back to confirm to make it easier for future travellers?

Re: IRAN e-visa rejection trying to get a VOA at the airport anyway

I've read about people doing this successfully (but can't remember where), but I haven't heard about anybody who tried and was sent back at the airport. So I suppose it's your best bet to try it out. I would assume the answer is "No!", but have a look here: https://www.lostwithpurpose.com/country/afghanistan/. Some of the information was updated in October 2018.

Re: Saudi Arabia tourist visa

As far as I know, tourist visas to Saudi Arabia were announced a while ago and were supposed to start some time in 2018 (April, I think), but this never materialised. There were going to be some restrictions for women - I think you were supposed to be at least 25 to get a tourist visa without a &quo...

Re: Security situation in Xinjiang - leave your thoughts

I've been reading these posts and the Caravanistan page on Xinjiang with great interest. At some stage, we are planning to travel through the area on our way to Singapore. There's something that has caught my attention on https://caravanistan.com/east-turkestan, though: If you have a Chinese wife, h...
