Re: Hojayli - Konye-Urgench border crossing (UZ - TM)

Crossed this border from UZ to TM (Nukus to Konye-Urgench) recently on a sunday. It took 20 min. on the uzbek side, one hour on the turkmen side, so almost one and a half hour all together for border-crossing. After entering Turkmenistan, there is a walk of some 500 meters to a gate where vehicles t...

Re: Korday border Kazakhstan

I crossed from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan Monday 6th of August. Overall the crossing including checks on both side took 5 minutes as the border was almost empty. By far the smoothest border-crossing I ever had in the former Soviet Union - apart from Schengen-borders between the Baltic states. On the K...

I was wave...

Security in night-trains, Uzbekistan

Are there any issues with security when travelling alone in night-trains in Uzbekistan? I plan to do the trip from Tashkent to Termiz this summer, should I take into consideration something, apart from normal precaution? No reports of criminal activities there?
I consider a kupe or SV/Lyux.

Double entry visa Uzbekistan

As mentioned in the visa section, a double entry visa for Uzbekistan comes a 2 x 15-days visa. Are these visa really restricted to 15 days? So not possible like 20 days for the first visit and another 5 days in the same 30-day-period for the second visit? So if I plan to stay in Uzbekistan around 20...
