Re: Sarp border at Turkey/Georgia: reports & updates
Update: I crossed this morning from GE to TK. You can find insurance at the border (not green card), however there is NO bank or ATM, make sure you have at least 300 Turkish Liras with you! TK guards speak English and are quite helpful, go at the border early as queues get pretty long. In case you f...

Re: Sarp border at Turkey/Georgia: reports & updates
Hello, does anybody know if you can buy the green card at Sarp border, or standard local insurance?
We are crossing the border from Georgia into Turkey soon.
Thanks!

Re: Caspian sea ferry updates & questions
Hi Pedro. You can definitely buy the tickets in Alat, I arrived from Aktau yesterday with a car. I saw a big billboard with prices about the shipping to/from Baku (Alat) in USD. I just came with Professor Gul (after waiting 4 days on the ferry because of the bad weather), they will give you food and...

Re: Azerbadjian with my car
Update: We arrived at Port Alat, which is incredibly new and straightforward. They let our 2004 RHD car in, with 30 days stay, no questions asked. Total fees paid were: 300USD shipment from Aktau (they have billboards with fixed prices) 12USD bridge fee 20USD Customs Not cheap, but these are all fix...

Re: Can anyone recommend a GPS app or device for trip
it depends what kind of roads you're going to go through.
i'm travelling from australia to italy, currently i'm in kazakhstan.
we have always used (believe it or not) google maps lol
we have however GAIA gps and GAIA topo maps, they work offline pretty well ! (you just need to download the app)

Re: Azerbadjian with my car
Hi all,
I'm currently in Aktau getting the ferry to Baku.
Our car is a 2004 RHD (Australian regsitered).
I have my e-VISA ready, but i read a lot of different reports, does anybody have clarification on driving old (14 years) and RHD vehicles in Azerbaijan?
Many thanks in advance and safe travels!

Currently in Aktau with my car waiting for a ferry to Baku.
I will update you all once in Azerbaijan.
For now, see attached a useful picture in front of the office where you should buy the ticket for the ferry!
