Re: Satellite phone?

Thanks for the replies.

How interested are customs in laptop contents? I usually travel with a laptop and portable hard drive to copy photos from the camera's memory card. Whilst I don't have any objectionable material on my laptop, I do have religious material on there.

Flying to Batken

Has anyone on here tried flying Bishkek to Batken? Is Tez Jet easy to book? (Sky Bishkek no longer exists.)

Satellite phone?

Does anyone know if there are any issues bringing a satellite phone into Uzbekistan?

I'm planning to travel there next year and I carry one to keep communication costs down (yes, seriously!). Just wondering if customs etc will be interested in it.

I'll be planning a Tashkent To Bishkek leg for my trip next year but I think I'll fly (Air Astana).

Re: Language

I normally travel without learning any of the local language (except for maybe hello/goodbye/thankyou). I am billingual (English/Polish) and while not having a particular gift for languages I do have an analytical mind and I'm particular about small details rather than the big picture (thus I can pr...

Re: Iranianvisa.com - anyone else have problems

It's been a few years since we went to Iran but at the time I considered all the opinions and I went for Pars Tourist Agency (Key2Persia), and had no issues. We later went to their office in Shiraz and took some tours with them. Some people have problems with Iranianvisa, some have none. And I'm sur...

Uzbekistan visa for Australians

I am Australian and therefore have no Uzbek embassy in my country. It seems that many Australians used to send their passports to the London embassy for visas, but Royal Mail no longer sell prepaid international envelopes, and arranging a courier return label (UPS, Fedex etc) is problematic if you a...
