Re: Tashkent airport: reports and Q&A

I arrived on July 11th. Queue took about 3 minutes. I handed over my passport, the customs official looked at it for about 15 seconds, smiled said "Welcome to Uzbekistan" and handed it back.

Luggage was out pretty much right away too!

Will give a departure report when I leave!

Re: Uzbekistan Embassy Report: Washington D.C.

I'm a Canadian and applied for my visa in Washington ( sent by fed ex). I sent it on July 11th. I could see it arrived in Washington on the 12th. When I put in my passport number in the evisa section, I could see that it had been processed that day. However, it did not get sent from the embassy unti...

Re: Bukhara - Urgench or Samarkand to Urgench (then Khiva)

So, now I’m thinking I may not have time for Sentyab. I do want to go, but may not have the time. Would the best itinerary still be to go that route even if I skip Sentyab?

Tashkent -Samarkand - Nukus (night train?) - Khiva - Bukhara -(then see if I have time for Sentyab) - Tashkent.

Question about e-visa

Sorry in advance for the silly question, I'm just checking as I know border guards can be particular. On the Tajikistan evisa, there are the options of "Official passport" or "Passport" Any passport is official, so not sure if it makes a difference which one I select. I'm not tal...

Re: Symbicort in Uzbekistan?

I thought that when arriving anytime there was any prescription medicine, you have to declare it, regardless of whether or not it had codeine in it?

Re: Symbicort in Uzbekistan?

Thanks Steven, I had thought it was just codeine. I'm not sure then if I will have to declare it?

It just seems like less hassle on the border if I have to declare.

Thanks again for your response,

Symbicort in Uzbekistan?

Has anyone had any trouble brining in Symbicort to Uzbekistan? I looked through the list of banned medication but couldn't find it on there. I don't use it daily, but I use it sometimes.

Just curious as I don't really want to have to declare medications.

Thanks

Re: Bukhara - Urgench or Samarkand to Urgench (then Khiva)

Sorry, I meant, no, I will not be self driving, but I meant, even as a passenger, it is a longer journey and that if I want to go by train, it is better to do it another way.
