Re: Finding bicycle box in Tashkent

Just an update: Yes, I did go through the article (but after your post :D). Dinamo, as the article says is completely useless. But the guys there were really helpful and guided me to a paper-recycling shop (it's on the perpendicular street less than 300 m away) and there I got a TV box. But that was...

Finding bicycle box in Tashkent

Hello all, I'm flying from Tashkent to Delhi on Sunday and am having a hard time finding a good box to pack my bicycle in. I found one box at a recycling center that's for a flat screen TV, but it's way too big and I'm afraid Uzbek Airways will reject it. Does anyone have experience buying/getting s...

Re: Uzbekistan Airways: Q&A

For what it's worth, I booked through vayama.com (was redirected tehre from skyscanner) and could book a one-way ticket from Tashkent-Delhi. As another of the posters here said, on the Uzbek Airways website (and app too), it was always defaulting to round trip.

Indian passport. Solo. Cyclist (though that wasn't mentioned anywhere). Somehow that's a bad combination I guess!

Re: Tajikistan starting Monday

Yes, I've read that article about 100 times so far :D, it's really informative! I am a little apprehensive about the snow! But I have lots of layers, so we'll see :) Some parts of Ladakh in India has a very similar terrain as Tajikistan -- the Karakoram range sort of merges into the Himalayas in Lad...

Re: Adopting a stray and taking her home to EU

Hey, If you follow @travelingchapati on Instagram, they're a couple from Ukraine who adopted a dog from India. Maybe you can ask them questions -- they seem pretty responsive and nice! https://www.storypick.com/ukrainian-couple-rescued-indian-stray-pup-chapati/ I didn't meet them, but I met their fr...

Tajikistan starting Monday

Hey guys, I'm a traveller from India, currently in England, heading to Central Asia for a few months(3/4/5/6?) before wherever I go next. I'm new to Caravanistan. I can't believe I found out about this website only two days ago! I'm reaching Dushanbe early Monday morning by flight. I'm coming with m...
