German news agencies got hold of the chinese surveillance app

https://www.tagesschau.de/investigativ/ndr/china-ueberwachung-103.html Hey, maybe it's of some interest for you. Two german news agencies (the federal NDR and the private Süddeutsche Zeitung, both trustworthy sources together with Vice Motherboard and The Guardian / NYT) did an article on the myster...

Re: Send something rather heavy from china (beijing) to germany

Hi, I successfully sent my gas burner with SAL (second cheapest option) using Chinapost and it arrived two weeks after in Germany. The post dude didn't want to send it because "dangerous", I had to insist multiple times on sending it on my own risk. Kitchen knives absolutely not possible. Cost was r...

Re: Uzbekistan/Moynaq: Fuel Question

Moynaq is not a lost place, in fact it's quite a big town. The shoreline is booming with gas factorys, there is hell a lot of traffic. Didn't searched for it, but I'm very positive that you can find petrol there, since the locals and the companys need it, too. If not a petrol station, locals will be...

Send something rather heavy from china (beijing) to germany

Hey, I would like to buy one or two of those fancy wok burners in china. They are not big (approx 35x35cm), but heavy - 10 kg with box. I need to send them home, since my journey goes on. Anyone here with experience how to send things from china to germany/eu and an approximation of the cost? Airmai...

Re: Uzbekistan e-visa Q&A

We applied on Monday and our visa was ready on Thursday. There is a topic with detailed reports from that embassy. On topic: I followed all the steps mentioned in the caravanistan e-visa-page and it worked after some time. Especially the pictures didn't work before, I had to resize them and crop the...

Re: Uzbek E-Visa question.

Getting a multiple entry was 50 dollars (in Bishkek), two e-visa would be 42 dollars. So to be safe a paper visa would be still an option?

Re: Tashkent to Shymkent border crossing Q&A

Crossed in November 2018 Uz - KZ. Yandex taxi from Tashkent was 40000 UZS. Lots of annoying people on both sides of the border, but process was smooth. No big crowds, no fights. Officers tried to let me skip line. No baggage check on Uzbek side, got two stamps on Kazakh side. Could change UZS to Ten...

Re: Turkmenistan Transit Visa in Tehran

Success! Got 5 days transit visa, as requested. Procedure was exactly like mentioned here. German passport and big beard in real life and on the pictures. Applied in Tehran, picked up in Mashhad. Was able to change the dates during pick up. You don't need to decide for your pickup place beforehand, ...

Btw there was a train from Mary to Sarahs on the timetable in the trainstation in Mary. So I would say there should be one back, too.

Re: Bordercrossing Iran - Turkmenistan a.k.a. Sarakhs - Saraghs

Mashhad – Sarahs – Mary November 2018 The train from Mashhad to Sarahs leaves at 10:45 AM and arrives three hours later. The train was very empty, so no ticket trouble. The train station Sarahs is 5 km away from Sarahs and the border. I hitchhiked to the border. There‘s a small shop in front of the ...
