Re: Where to find free, legal bivouac & camp sites in Europe?
Free (or wild) camping is not allowed in most of Europe. An exemption are the Nordic States (Norway, Sweden, probably Finland). Here's a link regarding rules and regulations. Note that, although otherwise stated in the linked article, motor-vehicles (everything from motorbike to campervan) are not a...

Re: Karakoram Highway solo female traveler: safety?
Hi Bamboo, lot's of questions in one post ;) maybe you should consider breaking them down into several posts. I travelled Xingjang by motorbike.... A guide is needed/mandatory. I met some cyclists who didn't seem to have a guide.....Cannot answer the question. For the amount you have mentioned you c...

Re: Tourists are able to drive in China right now
Hi there, Just to get this right.... All of the posts above are referring to the temp. License. What about driving a foreign licensed vehicle? It'd be great to have a simplified process for both, maybe even the ability to drive a defined route (e.g. Murghab - Tashkurgan - Pakistan) without a 'guide'...

Hi Steven, Saule & fellow travellers ;) Hope you're healthy just like I am. What I am doing? Besides fixing our place, trying to teach the kids their school stuff, being lazy & doing nothing.... Not much. Unfortunately had to cancel family vacation. Still wonder if I am going to loose my job. Should...

Re: Kulma Pass self-drive?
Hi Reinhard, Last year we crossed China, Irkeshtam - Pakistan. Anyway, while we were getting quotes we gave also asked for Qulma pass. At least one agency ( tibetmoto ) said it is possible. We haven't chosen Qulma because - same costs - same duration .... And, coming from Whakan / M41, we wanted to ...

Re: Long term parking Pakistan/India
Hi there,
No idea regarding Pakistan parking.
In India you are not allowed (entry with Carnet de passages/2018) to park your car for more than 6 month without a special permit.
Unfortunately I do not know where to get this permission.
Safe travelling!

Re: Corona virus border closures
Any information regarding Taftan border?
Friend of mine is overlanding back to Europe, currently in Karimabad .... Due to be at the border within a fortnight.
There are rumours that it's closed?!
Can someone clarify?
Thx in advance!
