Re: Q&A: Door to Hell

I think $10 for the bikerides is a bit much. I offered one of the local guys on a bike 20 manat to take me to the main road and he was more than happy.

Re: Crossing report: Loftabad-Artyk border (Iran-Turkmenistan)

I hitch hiked to Lotfabad from Mashad, which was fairly easy. I did take a (random) shared taxi at one point however (around 80km for 150,000 rials). I don't have much to add to the border part, it was as described here by others. The Iranian passenger passport control is a small building on the rig...

Re: Shavat-Dashoguz border crossing report

TM>UZ A very easy border crossing. Took a taxi/random dude from Dasoguz for 15 manat. According to locals it should be between 10-15. The apparent price for foreigners is 15-20. Re: Embassy report: Turkmen visa in Vienna

Got a reply asking me to pay the 10 euros fee, which I did. How long have you waited for this reply? I emailed them on Wednesday and got that reply on Monday. Re: Embassy report: Turkmen visa in Vienna

Slovak passport (Vienna is the home embassy for Slovaks): Tried the above approach and sent them an email with all the documents, my Iran e-visa (already issued) and a note that Uzbekistan is visa-free since February (asked for Artyk to Dashoguz). All I listed under transport was public transit. Got...

Re: Embassy report: Iran visa in Vienna

Similar story to kvint3, also a Slovak citizen. 1. Applied via e-visa (on my own) on Mar. 17th. No response, so I went to the embassy on Apr. 4 and they said Tehran hasn't responded yet and that they'll notify them to speed it up. 2. After around 4 days I got a refusal by email (apply via host). So ...
