Re: Self driving to Kel Suu

Hi Steven, Thanks for the response. We have applied for the permit through CBT Naryn, so just need to decide if it would be worth the money for their tour or to drive ourselves. We're renting a car through your website (many thanks for that), so I'm slightly inclined to think that we can do it. A gi...

Self driving to Kel Suu

Sorry for another post on this lake. Anyone know if it's easy enough to drive there or better to do a tour?

Re: Turkmenistan transit visa poll

Got mine after almost a month from the London embassy. Its valid for a 3 month window, which actually started about 2 weeks before they emailed it through to me.

Question - i originally stated to leave via Turkmenbashi, could I leave through the airport in Ashgabat instead?

Re: Big Almaty Lake: experiences

I went last week. 3 of us shared a taxi from Almaty. Paid the driver to go into the park and hang around for an hour. We walked down the the lake shore and back. Didn't see any police and didn't have to show our passports, though may be an idea to take them anyway.

Re: Kel Suu

Awesome, thanks guys. Those pics look great. Actually spoke to someone in my hostel this morning who went there the other week and also confirmed there's water in the lake.

Kel Suu

Hi,

Massive stretch to answer this for sure, I am aware, but anyone know if Kel Suu is likely to have a substantial amount of water in the middle of September? I've read reports that people have seen the lake dry during the summer.

Kayaking on Issyk Kul

Hi,

I've heard kayaking on Issyk Kul is possible. Does anyone know from where or who provides this? Potential cost?

Thanks

Safety of leaving hire cars parked in Kyrgyzstan

I'm looking at hiring a car for a week or so in Kyrgyzstan to help get between places. Once I arrive at those places, I'd also like to go off and do some multi-day hikes. Will it be safe to leave a car in a town unattended for a few days, like Kyzart for example?
