This week I did this in the opposite direction. Paid 200000 through yandex app from Tashkent to Oybek. Then $10 for taxi on Tajik side to Khujand. About 3.5 hours overall, also smoother than I had anticipated.

Hi Everyone, would it be feasible to take transport from khujand to Istaravshan, spend a few hours looking around, and then getting a shared taxi on to Dushanbe?


I wouldn't mind spending a night in Istaravshan but I'm not finding accommodations.

Would anyone know a good location in Tashkent to hire a driver to go to the oybek border? I will ask the hotel but wondering if there is a taxi stand or something that would be better. Thanks

Is there still a large difference between the rate of exchange at the markets versus an ATM or Bank? When I went back in 2016 that was the case so I am curious for my trip in 2023. Thanks
