I think, there ist no option in Samarkand. You can buy gas bottles in Penjikent. The name of the shop is Armughon, on the main road. Tel. +992 927746202.

The name of the store in Penjikent, where you can buy gas bottles, is Armughon, it's on the main street Rudaki. A small bottle cost 95 TJS. The owner of the shop speaks English.

Can anybody confirm availability of camping gas in Samarkand or Panjakent? I asked a woman in Panjakent and she said, there is a availability (a shop) to buy gas cartridges. I never said, that my experience is 6B or rock climbing is comparable to mountaineering. But if I can climb UIAA VI-VII, I`m able to climb rock section in mountaineering III-IV. That`s I wanted to say. Maybe my English is too bad...

Hi Julia & Mazeno, thanks for your response! We want to do a hike for two weeks in the Fann Mountains and Yagnob Valley with our own tent and food. So we have enough stuff/food to carry. That`s the reason, that I asked for climbing without rope and harness... And no worry, we have experiences in...

Hi Julia,

we have experiences with rock climbing and mountaineering. But we are only 2 persons. If there are crevasses, it`s better to go on a rope with 3 or 4. And I would like to go without rope and harness because of the weight...
