Re: China resume issuing visas(including tourist visa) for foreigners starting March 15

That was possible 3 years ago before covid. No one knows how it is now after such a long break.

Re: When will the Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border reopen?

You didn't quote all of it Koen : "Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said in November -- without providing many details -- that he expects all border delimitations with Tajikistan to be completed by May. Although many think it unlikely the May deadline will be met, both Kyrgyz and Tajik officials have ...

Re: Cycling Pamir Highway - August/September 2022

Some good news to come on the KG/TJ border issue ? According to https://www.rferl.org/a/kyrgyzstan-tajikistan-tout-progress-border-dispute/32292365.html : "Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said in November -- without providing many details -- that he expects all border delimitations with Tajikistan to...

Re: Alternative Route Cycling Pamir Highway

I have never been, but I've read on here about people doing similar things and there are loads of shared taxis and sling the bike on top maybe Don't rely on "loads of" share taxis. There are some from time to time, but usually they are full and you don't easily jump in where you are on the side of ...

Due to the shootings yesterday between the Kyrgyz and Tajik Soldiers at the borders in Batken Province it's highly possible that the Kyzylart border will close again now.
You may have been the first and the last to cross that border for a long long time...

Re: Any advice on aggresive dogs?

Agressive dogs are an issue when cycling in Caucasus, especially in Georgia (Armenia was more "relaxing"). Unlike many, I don't feel comfortable with dogs in my everyday life : I have nothing against them, I just don't know how to behave. So being chased by big dogs in Georgia wasn't very pleasant.....

Re: Armenia's old capital ANI

Hi Julia I'm back from Caucasus, here is what I can tell you. The village of Haykadzor is easily accessible, you don't need any permit, but from the so called "Ani view point" you just don't see nothing... unless you have binoculars. And I had not... I could only distinguish some monuments very far ...

We arrived in Yerevan 3 days ago. Drove there from Germany and heading to Iran next week. No issues at all. Especially nothing related to covid. Everything feels like pre-pandemic.
Same here in Georgia. It's like covid never existed.

It seems like a lot to do and see in only one month! Tbilisi is great - but so is the rest of Georgia. And you can easily spend 2 weeks alone (or more) in Uzbekistan. So unless you really like to rush from place to place, it seems a little, well, rushed... ;-)
I totally agree. Take your time !
