Re: By car from Germany to China. Best route in viral times and with minimal preparation?

As a person who tried to get from Kyrgyzstan to Europe, there is practically no way of doing this now. Safest bet is trying to cross least countries as possible in which case it means Russia for you. Contact embassy, try to get special permit in current conditions. We couldn't get it, but we didn't ...

Re: Extending car import Tajikistan

Extending permit is free. You can give some money, but it's a "friendly" fee.
Guy was joking with me, said $100, then 100 som, then 10 som, then 0. I just said it's free every time.

Edit: This happened in Khorog border military checkpoint

Anyone wants to ship car from Kyrgyzstan to Europe?

I'm thinking about shipping our Land Rover from Kyrgyzstan to Europe. I've got quoted price for 3.700eur on truck from Bishkek to Slovenia, for whole truck 13.5m covered cargo space. Price and details are not final and I'm still figuring out process as whole. There is plenty of space available if an...

Extending Vehicle Import Permit because of COVID-19

Has anyone ever tried to extend 1 year vehicle permit? Due to COVID-19 my car is still stuck in Kyrgyzstan and it looks like I won't be able to move it out until October when 1 year permit expires.

How would you go about solving this issue? I have permit papers on me.

Thanks for help

Re: Turkmenistan by car: mandatory GPS tracker questions

When I crossed Turkmenistan we took usual route Ashgabat-Dasoguz. We got GPS tracker and on border they drew the way which we have to take (approximately). We were wondering around and sightseeing Ashgabat, did gas crater. In 4 days we didn't see any police checkpoints, at exit I just gave them GPS ...

Re: Which country for long term parking

I got 12 month permit on Dor Bobo when entering Kyrgyzstan aswell. I asked for it, he wanted some extra money for it, because it was "not possible". Few minutes later he ended up writing 12 month permit and I paid nothing extra. Just have patience and be in a good mood. When we left the country via ...

Tips for vehicle storage

I am leaving car in Kyrgyzstan for winter, I have valid import permit for 12 months, I found covered space to store it.

What should I be doing to car before I leave?

Thorough cleaning and disconnecting all batteries. That I know, what else?
