Re: Does the developing world need development?

Yes, mazeno, I think you are the problem, as you try to force your views on others. That's not freedom. I don't have problems with either tradition or development, as people should be free to choose what they think is best. They certainly don't need me telling them that they should not have roads, d...

Re: Does the developing world need development?

Your attitudes are so contradictory. On the one hand you claim that the EU is preventing people from being free by supposedly banning wild camping (a fact that seems to have somehow eluded the Swedes and Finns, amongst others). On the other hand you decry the right of the pamiris and others to live ...

Re: Does the developing world need development?

You should be for chipping people: it will make it theoretically easier for you to gate-keep and prevent tourists from visiting places that you would like to remain in a prior century.

Re: Does the developing world need development?

Too bad they don't have the EU there to crack down on their freedom to do these kinds of things, and a super-EU to prevent tourists from visiting them.

Re: Security situation in Xinjiang - leave your thoughts

So what if the ethnic group is older than Islam? (It's equally irrelevant, for example, that the Chinese sources you cite predate the adoption of Turkic language.)

It's precisely the Islamic aspects of Uyghur culture that the government is trying to eradicate.

Re: Favorable temperature for camping and dog

The reality is that wind speed does not affect temperature. Maybe you should try to think wider and realize that your "over scale" car sensor isn't a precision measuring device. Neither is some random thermometer that certainly wasn't designed for high temperatures. The weather station in Errachidia...

Re: Favorable temperature for camping and dog

I think the person playing professional expert is the one saying wikipedia is wrong and that we had 60°C temperatures in the last 10 years when the all-time record for Earth is 55°C. The reality is that it gets very hot on the region. Uncomfortably (and possibly unsafely) hot. We don't need to make ...

Re: Favorable temperature for camping and dog

Mazeno, where did I suggest it's comfortable to cycle? All I did was point out that your "facts" are not actually true. If you have a problem with that, maybe don't support your argument with false facts. And yeah, I'm sure many meteorologists would completely agree with you that there are so many r...

Re: Favorable temperature for camping and dog

Well, Mazeno, I'd say I'll take wikipedia's word over yours any day. Heck, you might notice that wikipedia even has sources for their data... and none of them are facebook! Interesting that you noticed temperatures in Morocco that nobody else did. I guess when you turn facebook off the temperature g...
