But (obviously) no tour company wants to let go of the fat bucks and provide juust the letter of invite. They're all saying you can't be without a guide at all times, which I looked up and doesn't seem to be entirely true. Where did you look this up? Not here, presumably. https://caravanistan.com/v...

When you ask if you can do a 2-day trip to the Pamirs from Uzbekistan, it's pretty clear you didn't do basic research. Certainly not enough to get huffy when someone suggests you do basic research before asking a question.

If you are on a bike the police will most likely follow you in a car and direct you to a place that can take foreigners (or will manually register you at a place that does not normally take them). There are many such reports of this on the forums here.

Safety is fine, but you need permission. 6. I believe special permission/permit is now needed to enter the Tashkurgan area, and in Xinjia...
