We finally stayed in the hotel near the train station (Myhmanhana). The one with the yellow and green sign on top. 10 dollar for a double room with smelly bathroom. Hi! We just crossed Turkmenistan from Nukus and out in Saraghs. At the nukus border there were some taxis waiting and one guy offered us to drive us to Ashgabat, with an overnight at the crater. Since the borderguard explicitely told us we cannot overnight in Mary on our transit visa, we're looking for other possibilities.
We have our own tent, so camping is maybe possible.
Does someone know a good hidden spot around the city?
