Re: Uzbekistan travel restrictions/reopening Q&A
If I look on the foreign affairs websites from UK and US, it says yellow zone is 14 days home quarantine. I prefer to believe those guys. I heard from the Uzbekistan Tourism Ambassador on Twitter (she is a good source of info btw, you can message her), that the list will be updated soon. So it could...

Re: Best circular road
Hi Misty. well, if you want to go fast, then Kazakhstan - Russia - Ukraine is definitely the quickest way. Boats are expensive and unreliable. Alternatively, you could go from Russia down to the Caucasus and back through Georgia and Turkey, but it's slower (more mountains, more borders and checkpoin...

Re: Uzbekistan re-open border from 0ctober 1st
I'll ask. Situation is indeed completely unclear, and likely to remain so. I am guessing at the moment that you need to home quarantine, but I don't know if that is checked. Edit: here's the answer - The list for red/yellow/green is here: https://uzbekistan.travel/en/o/covid-19-in-uzbekistan/ This i...

Re: Second hand / souvenir shopping in Bishkek
Some old notes I thought I'd share: Tumar's felt slippers are a favourite for souvenirs, they are on the corner of Isanova and Kiev streets I found 3 souvenir shops on Chuy between Ala-Too square and Osh bazaar: Saima had the nicest collection, especially embroidery. Original stuff, better than Tuma...

Bishkek nightlife Q&A
I am just going through some outdated info on the Bishkek city guide and I decided to move the info to the forum. Clubs and bars open and close with great frequency, so if you have a good recommendation, please post it here! Here is what I used to have (taken, I believe, from the pages of the old Bi...

Re: Kyrgyzstan to open borders to all foreigners
What exactly do you mean by ethical perspective, Jealgu?
It is very easy to make sure the money you spend in Kyrgyzstan will go to the people who need it the most.

Re: Limitations regarding Self-Driving
I agree that in terms of time and convenience (not to mention not having to deal with traffic police), train is sometimes a better choice. But this means that you are pretty much stuck to the cities, whereas a car gives you the freedom to go wherever you feel like. That's the main advantage!

Re: Limitations regarding Self-Driving
Yeah that's possible. It's a bit of a hassle since you will have to prove on leaving the country where your car is, but people do it. https://caravanistan.com/transport/driving/parking/ But why on earth would you want to do that? You have the freedom of your own car and you drove it all the way here...
