Re: Applying for a INDIA Visa in PAKISTAN

I read you are going "on road", what does it mean? How are you going from Pakistan to India? Flying? Bus? On your own vehicle? AFAIK, evisa is good only for flying to 24 airoports and for 3 seaports, so you can't cross Wagah border on a evisa. Some guy travelling with me in China last august applied...

Re: What's the current situation in Khorog?

From what I'm hearing from friends who crossed there in the last few weeks, everything is fine and normal in Khorog.
The markets on the Afghan borders can be closed, but this happens almost every year for different issues.

Re: Unpleasant experience with police in Osh

I'm sorry for you, guys.
Unfortunately, some corrupted officer still exist in Central Asia.

My suggestion is to never believe persons in uniforms: pretending not to speak a single word in russian, remaining in crowded places and not following them even if ordered to do it, usually works.

Re: Driving without IDP - Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan?

I think you can go without. I have one, but every time I have been stopped I have never shown it. It would be quite useless since no one would be able to read it: it does not have any Russian wording on it. Not exactly what I remember: I need to check later at home, but I'm pretty sure that my Vien...

Re: Leaving car in Krygyzstan for 1 year

My friends crossed yesterday from Tajikistan to Kyrgyzstan at Bor Dobo. They had temporary import papers for CU valid for 6 months. They did not asked for 12, as they don't need them, so I don't know if it is possible to obtain it at that border (you should, but nobody reported back about that). If ...

Re: A-27, A-26 - road condition

I took A-27 aktobe-kandyagash-dossor last august, from aktobe to mukur. First 100-150 km from aktobe, not bad. Then, almost no road: only option was to ride in the sandy side tracks in the steppe. There is my report on the hubb http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/ride-tales/from-central-asia-to-ca...

Re: Leaving car in Krygyzstan for 1 year

thank you for help ! is this 1 year "on request" thingy ? or I need to pull off some story ? Do i need to pay extra for that ? Actually, it looks like it is always valid for 12 months now. It was 3 months until sometime last year. Kyrgyzstan is the last country which entered the union, and even bor...
