Re: Russian tourist visa in Tbilisi, Georgia

My partner and I are also having an absolute nightmare with this. First we tried the new visa service centre but unfortunately an appointment is necessary and it's over a week until the next free slot. It is possible to apply without an appointment in the 'Premium Lounge', but that costs 200 lari pe...

Re: Erbil to Tbilisi

Just an update for this. We took the bus to Diyarbakir from Erbil which cost $25 per person. The company we used, Can Diyarbakir, offers three services a day. One in the morning, one at 4pm and one at 8pm. We took the 8pm and arrived to Diyarbakir around 9am, with the border crossing taking a lazy 4...

Erbil to Tbilisi

Anyone know the quickest route by land between these two cities? I'm aware of the bus that goes to Diyarbakir in Turkey, but I'm not quite sure of the best way to get from there to Georgia. Unless of course there is somehow a bus which goes all the way, but I assume that is highly unlikely. Any help...

Re: Tajikistan E-visa Q&A

My boyfriend and I applied for Tajikistan Evisa and GBAO permit Saturday morning...it's now Monday evening and still no visa. Both were paid for straight away. When we manage our applications online it said 'Modifiable' during the weekend, and today on Monday it changed to 'Validation In Progress'....

Re: Shavat-Dashoguz border crossing report

Crossed this border a week ago. Simple process as described on caravanistan. One interesting thing came up though. After departing Uzbekistan through the border gate, we were approached by a few Turkmen soldiers who checked our passports, pretty standard procedure. Then we were asked each to pay $10...

Re: Tajikistan E-visa Q&A

Hi! I need a double entry visa for Tajikistan (going into Afghanistan for a few days). The E-visa info at: https://caravanistan.com/visa/tajikistan/#double-entry seems to indicate that this may be possible by getting two separate e-visas (by getting also the second e-visa on advance, the example be...

Finished up our trip about a week ago now so here is some of the latest information. Such a useful report! I'm planning a 4 month trip in Central Asia next summer and hope to spend 2-3 weeks in Afghanistan as a part of it. I have a few questions if you don't mind: You said you took the lower route ...

Re: Three Weeks in the Wakhan Corridor

As a side note, while we were in Tajikistan in Langar we stayed at the same homestay as an official working on the construction of a new border crossing there. He estimates that in 2-3 years once a road through to Pakistan is completed then the crossing will be open to everyone. That's a fantastic ...
