Re: Iran to UAE by Ferry: Q&A and updates

I thought it'd be good to mention something I found out in my research for people intending on travelling from Iran to UAE and onwards to Oman. So the emirate of DUBAI (not the whole UAE) have a common visa facility with Oman, which means you don't need to pay Oman VOA fee (20 OMR, roughly 50 usd) i...

Public libraries with free desktops for internet access on the Silk Road

Hey all :) As a moneyless, deviceless hitcher I had quite a hard time finding internet on the road. I often managed to get anything from 10 to 30 min for free in internet cafes if I could convince them that I really was cashless (white skin, sometimes you're no help at all...). The other best option...

Re: Different "solutions" to the Pakistan visa blues

Well I've been told it's illegal to mail a passport from Iran. You could always not mention it when mailing it, but it's a bit risky I guess. In any way it costs 44 USD one way plus 42 euros for the visa in Paris and I'll have to fake a hoard of documents (employment letter, payslip, bank statement,...

Re: Where are you going? Why?

I just saw this post and although I already pitched in my share of questions and reports for the visa bogus I guess it wouldn't hurt to leave a few lines here :) I'm a 26 year old pilgrim from France on his way to Nepal and India to visit the 4 major pilgrimage sites common to followers of the Buddh...

Different "solutions" to the Pakistan visa blues

So I am one of the apparently many people who have innocently set off on a hitch-hiking journey to India without the slightest bit of research on the possibility of visas on the road. As many people, I realize after many thousands kms that there is almost no way to get a Pakistan visa on the road. T...

Re: Sarp border at Turkey/Georgia: reports & updates

I crossed in late september 2017, turkey to Georgia. I only had a French ID card and the little paper that the Turks had given me when I came in from Greece, and I did not have a passport to show even if they wanted to see one. On the Turkish side they were like "no way you're getting into Georgia w...

Entering Turkey and Georgia with ID for Schengen states citizens

It IS possible, I did it last August at Ipsala's border crossing (French ID card). They give you a piece of paper with a stamp on it to prove your date of entry. When crossing into Georgia (also possible with ID for Schengen states citizens) at Sarp I was not asked for a passport, the officers knew ...

Re: Armenia - Iran border crossing

I crossed this border 10 days ago. All easy (French passport, prearranged visa). I had hitched from Meghri, it was quite effortless to find a ride. Remember to insist that you dont have money, but if youve made it that far in Armenia you already know that I guess. On the armenian side, the lady also...
