On Kyrgyz Railways' website there is still the information from last year, which states that the train runs the last time on 31th August (2018). However, I took in on September 8th, which means it ran longer than announced. Let's wait and see...

Neither "Kazakhstan" nor "Dushanbe" are in Uzbekistan, and also, Dushanbe is not situated in Kazakhstan. Apart from that, normal medication is no longer a problem in any of these countries.

Tajik Railways have a fancy new website: https://www.railway.tj/ru/
It's loading very slowly, and I was really impressed that they say online booking was possible now (although I haven't tried it out)!
Only Russian/Tajik though.

A half day for Gori should be enough, as there's absolutely nothing to see except for the Stalin Museum. You can quite well spend an additional day in Tbilisi though. It appears that currently Afrosiyob tickets are put online for sale only 14 days in advance. No idea why. Your alternatives are booking a slower, cheaper train (which are still perfectly comfortable IMO) or waiting.

That's interesting (especially considering that they refused my request to stamp my passport last year even though they had a stamp, saying it was for locals only)! Could you post a photo of the stamp?
