Private transfers to book up front?
Hi guys, Do you know any local agencies that I can approach to book a private transfer upfront that takes me from Dushanbe to the tiny village of Dasht, an hour from Choroeg, and then come picks us up again five days later back to Dushanbe? We are a bit stressed for time which is why I prefer to pre...

Re: Travel safety in Iraqi Kurdistan?
Ah right, so nothing to much out of the ordinary.
At the moment Turkey is invading Kurdistan along the northern borders, those are obvious places to avoid of course.

Re: Travel safety in Iraqi Kurdistan?
I was there in February and would say Callum T's assessment a few posts up is 100% accurate. I crossed in by land from Turkey and flew out of Erbil. Felt very stable, relatively economically prosperous, and without fail everyone I met was welcoming and happy to see tourists. Great food and stunning...

Re: Travel safety in Iraqi Kurdistan?
Will be going in october so been following all the news daily. As far as I can tell still very safe although there is unrest to keep a close watch on, such as Turkish invasion and occupation at the border. A Iran - US escalation would probably affect this part of Iraq as well. ISIS still very much a...

Re: land border between Afghanistan & Turkmenistan
Thanks for the info. I know 2014 had seen an escalation of problems at this border but I could not find any current info. Did you do any travel by road or was it all by flight? Sorry for late reply. Something happened in january and in march Afghan soldiers were chased into Turkmenistan by Taliban ...

Re: land border between Afghanistan & Turkmenistan
I don't know it for certain but it looks unlikely to be open for travel. Turkmenistan is getting anxious with Afghan border, with recent confrontations and rising tensions. Even though they wise to remain neutral in conflicts they cannot longer ignore the issues and are in fact sending more military...

Re: Khyber Pass (AF>PAK)
First of all, thank you and wow, that is amazing news. You are creating the future by sharing with the world what can be done. I'm posting because I want to cross Afghanistan on foot, from Termez (Uzbekistan) to Mazari Sharif to Kabul to Khyber pass. Your experience was the trigger, the sigh of rel...

Re: Drones in Central Asia - rules Q&A
Via e-mail: We did not mention voluntarily that we had a drone and nobody noticed it as the car check at the border in all the countries was always just a glance. Exception Azerbaijan: when we arrived in Alat with the boat from Kuryk in Kazachstan they specifically asked if we had a drone. After an...
