Buying "trekking" food/supplies in Almaty

Hi, I was wondering if I could get the following "trekking" food/supplies in supermarkets in Almaty: - powdered milk (Nido or other) - chocolate powder (for the milk) - instant coffee - cereal/musli - cereal bars - some sort of processed/dry meat (like salami/sausages) that can stay out of the fridg...

Report - Iranian visa at embassy in Oslo

Here is my report from the visa application at the Iranian embassy in Oslo now in April 2015. I've applied a bit of in a short notice (about 3 weeks before the flight date). The people from the embassy have been very helpful both by e-mail and phone. They processed the visa in about 3 working days a...

Re: Country where we won't be allowed in with Iranian stamp?

I am not aware of any country where you are officially not allowed to enter with an iranian stamp/visa. Though you will probably be asked a lot of questions if entering Israel and the US (but they may ask the same long amount of questions for other visas as well...).

Re: Iranian visa validity vs duration

Actually I just re-read the visa section here in the website and it says: "Iran visa validity: 3 months from the day you receive it. This means you have to enter the country within 3 months from receiving it. So, you can enter the day before the visa expires, and then still enjoy Iran for as long as...

Iranian visa validity vs duration

I just got my iranian visa and I was wondering if the dates within the validity apply only for the entry on the country and then it is the duration which counts. Or if the stay must be in between the validity period. I just got my visa and the embassy has given a validity from the issue date to 1 mo...

LOI first or contact the embassy first?

Hi, in the case of a brazilian applying for the Uzbequi visa and which he plans to do it in Brussels, as there are no Uzbeki embassies in Brazil. Does he need to call the embassy stating that he plans to get the visa there before working with the tour agency to issue the LOI? Or does he first arrang...

Re: Border-zone permit Ile Alatau

The tourist pass is the one indicated in this hike: http://www.silkadv.com/en/content/left-talgar-almaty-lake . The Zhusalykezen is the one linking kosmostantsia (the observatory) and the Prokhodnaya valley (later converging in Alma -Arasan). Though, I just found out through the new lonely planet (h...

Just noticed that in the map I have Karaköl instead of Karakol and that the coordinates close to the map are WGS48
