Assuming you have enough funds to do this, wouldn't it be easiest to buy full-fare tickets (booking classes Y, W or J) that are fully refundable without cancellation charges even weeks after you purchased them? (I admit I haven't tried this myself - so if there's a snag here, please let me know...)
Interesting! Actually, flightglobal isn't quite right about the European destinations, though: as far as I know, they also fly (or rather: used to fly) to Frankfurt and Paris.

The Formula-E in December 2018 was apparently some sort of trial event. Well - everything I've heard or seen so far suggests the answer is "yes, no problem". However, you only get 15 days. (My wife is Malaysian, but we entered Iran via IKA.)
Once you have crossed, maybe you could report back to confirm to make it easier for future travellers?
