I got Platzkartny for about 30 €. There is Second class too, about 30% more expensive. I also looked up the price from Kulsary (one stop before Beyneu) and it was unproportionally more expensive.
If you see trains that are full you can try to check the next day, sometimes they add another wagon.

Anyone have any suggestions? Trying to book train tickets from Aktau to Nukus on May16/17. Kazakh Railways official site says there are no trains available (both to/from Beyneu). Am able to find trains and select tickets using tickets.kz but they won't accept my credit cards (Visa/USA). Someone at their support email told me to try another credit card (I have actually tried five cards). I have tried Yandex.ru as well with the same results.

Have you tried looking from Manggystau (Мангышлак) to Beyneu (Бейнеу) and then on to Nukus?
The usual booking sites (Kazakh, Belarus, Yandex) show a connection on the 16th/17th.

Example:

• 111X leaving Manggystau at 18:48, arriving in Beyneu at 00:54, over 200 berths available
• 648Ф leaving Beyneu at 04:55, arriving in Nukus at 18:33, over 100 berts available

You could also take the later 037Т leaving Manggystau at 21:00, but I would rather spend some time waiting in the Beyneu station than to risk missing the connection.

I am able to get to the ticket booking fine on tickets.kz and Yandex and select the trains I need, it is just not accepting my credit cards (confirmed that it isn't a problem with my bank). Also, the official Kazakh website appears to be asking for a Kazakh phone number so I am not able to get as far as the payment.

What is the address of the Belarus website mentioned above? I have not tried that one.

Sometimes their transliterations of cities is a bit different and it takes some trial and error to find out how to look for connections…

Hello guys, i'm trying to book the Talgo train (111X) from Aktau to Beineu on the 13th of june. Although this specific train shows up on every other date (on tickets.kz) it doesn't on the 13th. Does anyone know if this correct and there is just no service that day or that it is something else? I really need to book the train on that specific date and time.

Hi Marc,

The 111X (Mangistau - Almaty) schedule shows it runs every-other-day (not daily):

In June it runs on even days (so it's running on 12th June & 14th June, but not 13th June).

The 109X (Mangistau - Aktobe) runs daily, departing 2.5 hours before the 111X and arrives at Beineu 1 hour before the 111X, so it seems a good option for you. It isn't a Talgo, but for a 6~7 hour journey I'm not sure that will matter too much.

You can buy tickets for the 109X from the usual sources (tickets.kz, bilet.railways.kz, etc).

Regarding payment problems: I struggled with this lately and found out something. On my ipad (probably uses the website as a desktop) I could only use visa and it acted all weird. Then I tried booking on my phone, and many payment options popped up and I could book.
It’s worth a try to use another platform.
(Now I’m typing it I’m confused if this wasn’t also the case with Uzbek railways. Anyways, give it a shot)
