Some updates on the main train page seem necessary:
Since the re-opening of the land border between Georgia and Armenia in June the night train between the capitals now runs daily, leaving Tbilisi 20.20 h. Due to few passengers only one car for each class and no restaurant.
Alas, the big improvement is that now only brand new Russian made cars supplied by Armenian Rail are in service. Sockets at every seat and even in platzkart a shower in one of the toilets (which are now the closed circuit type thus no longer locked in stations, just at the border). Fares appear to be unchanged, I paid € 20 from Tbilisi to Gyumri, in lower platzkart.
Train Tblissi-Yerevan all new
Re: Train Tblissi-Yerevan all new
The other way:
Departure from Yerevan is 21.30, arriving at Tbilisi ca 7.30 which leaves just enough time to catch two of the other daily trains into Georgia:
8 am to Batumi and 8.50 to Kutaissi.
Fare from Eriwan in lower platzkart was 13222 Dram (ca € 28).
My provodnik on the way out was definitely old school, on the way back young and even attentive!
The border crossing on the Georgian side coming in was unusually thorough, particularly vaccination/PCR test -wise. Platzkartniki had to queue in the rain at a window on the platform, better classes were checked in compartments. Customs checked names and goods separately making sure everybody was back on board.

It sounds like they are all sleeper cars. Platzkart is open bunks, and he mentions better classes which would be enclosed kupe and probably SV cabins.

Such is the case.
And with few people travelling now, you are very likely to get a compartment to yourself in kupe.
