Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions of cheap ways of flying to (anywhere in) Central Asia from Europe (specifically UK)?
I was intending to go to Turkmen+Uzbek+Kyrgyz+Tajik but it is possible that Kazakhstan might be the best entry point to the region.
(And I'm persuadable about visiting Kazakhstan as well!)
Cheap flights to Central Asia
Re: Cheap flights to Central Asia
In my experience, Bishkek is often the cheapest airport to fly to. You might also want to consider an open-jaw flight involving Bishkek - e.g. Europe -> Bishkek, Tashkent -> Europe.
There are also some cheap flights on Wizz Air via Dubai/Abu Dhabi that *can* work out well - but for me personally, the airline is too unreliable (flight cancellations/date or time changes) to use them on a long-distance trip involving more than one flight. But obviously, your mileage may vary...

Define cheap. We will fly next week from Stansted to Almaty with Pegasus Airlines and return from Tashkent to Heathrow with Uzbekistan Airways (direct flight, yay!). The tickets were about £250 and £275 per head, respectively, with luggage included when buying in January. The former seemed to have a pretty standard price and the latter seemed on the low side. I also queried Bishkek but it was all the same pricewise. Kiwi.com was helpful in finding the right connections.
