I received my National Identity Card and it was given 30 days after (the exact date and the window number was told to me on the date of my application) the application.IndianGuy wrote: Yes, I am married to a Kazakh woman. 10 months to get "permanent residence" or just "registration"? If you are talking of "Permanent residence" from a point of applying for J-2 Visa and prior preparation of documents, you are right. It took 10 months for me. Few months were wasted in my case as documents were aparently lost by Embassy. But, thanks god! we could sort out everything. Reg. registration, I do not think the info is true. I will let all know in forum the exact dates taken by authorities once I receive my "Card".
So, the process after getting J-2 Visa in India (my home country) was: Come to Astana as soon as possible (Someone told me that you should come to the Local Migration Office within 10 days from the date of start day of Visa) ------> Go to get Permanent Registration within 5 days (Get Permanent Registration as well as temporary/usual registration within these 5 days. In Astana, the windows are different and seperate Q will be there)------> After getting temporary registration (generally, the same day evening or next day evening), make a photocopy and submit it to the officer/window from where you applied for Permanent registration---------> Come after 7/10/ the day he tells you to come and collect the permanent registration-------------> Go to the Window where they will click your photo based on your permanent registration----------------> Come after 30 days/the day the officer tells you to come (in Astana, in between 2 Pm to 4 pm)------> Show your Passport and collect it with ease! That's All.
